Late Breaking ePoster Research Abstract Submission
 

Submission deadline: August 15, 2019

The 4th Annual Conference of the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Gynecologic Excellence (CanSAGE4) Program Committee is pleased to announce a call for late breaking ePoster abstract submissions.

 

This call is to allow submission of recent research results which may not have been ready for presentation at the regular submission deadline.

The top scoring submission will present their ePoster orally in a scheduled session.

Remaining submissions will be considered for ePoster presentation at self-browsing stations, using the MultiLearning interface and touch-screen technology.  Please note that due to space limitations only the first 50 submissions will be considered. 

Who should submit an abstract?

Presentations from all interested parties are welcome. These include:

  • Physicians

  • Allied healthcare professionals

  • Scientists

  • Clinical trainees, including fellows, residents, and medical students

  • Research trainees, including undergraduates, graduate students, and post-docs

 

Preference will be given to abstracts that:

  • have high relevance to gynecologic surgical practice, education, or research

  • showcase surgical techniques or processes that can be adopted by other surgeons or institutions

NEW TO CANSAGE4:

Abstracts and videos will be accepted on the topic of INNOVATION, covering topics such as education, simulation, health policy, novel surgical techniques

Submission guidelines:

Research abstract (ePoster)

 

  • An online submission must be received for each abstract

  • More than one abstract may be submitted per author

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English

  • The abstract must not exceed 250 words

  • CanSAGE4 will consider all abstracts, except those that have been presented at a previous CanSAGE

  • Note: In order for your abstract to be accepted for presentation and included in the final program, you must have paid your registration by the date of submission.


Submissions must include:

  • COI disclosure: Declaration of conflict of interest(s) for the presenting author with respect to industry funding - online disclosure form »
  • Presenting author identification: Name, title, organization, and contact information

  • Abstract title: Clearly describes content of your presentation

  • Author(s): e.g., John Brown, Betty White* ... with presenting author identified with an asterisk = Firstname Lastname*

  • Affiliation(s): Institution, City, Country for all authors (in case of multiple institutions, please identify respective author and corresponding institution with a number)
  • Abstract text: 250 words
    • Objectives: states the study purpose in a concise manner

    • Methods: indicates the location, study design, sample size, participants, test or intervention, and type of statistical analysis if appropriate

    • Results: findings from described methods to confirm or refute the hypothesis (no graphs or tables)

    • Conclusion: states the effect of the study on patient management, clinical education, or research within the field.

    • For INNOVATION abstracts, the Methods and Results can be combined into a single section describing the nature of the innovation and potential or measured impacts.

Not applicable for late breaking submissions

Submission guidelines:

Video abstract

  • An online submission must be received for each video abstract

  • More than one abstract may be submitted per author

  • All video presentations must be edited and narrated on the audio track in English

  • The video summary must not exceed 150 words
  • CanSAGE4 will consider all videos, except those that have been presented at a previous CanSAGE

  • Hospital protocol for video recording with patient consent must have been followed

  • Productions must be no longer than 7 minutes in duration and include titles and a spoken narrative

  • The video file size cannot exceed 500 MB and must play in one of the following video players: Window Media Player, Real Player, or Quick Time Player

  • The video cannot be promotional or commercial in nature

  • In order for your video to be accepted for presentation and included in the final program, you must have paid your registration by June 30, 2019.

Submissions must include:

  • Presenting author identification: Name, title, organization, and contact information

  • Video title: Clearly describes content of your presentation

Options for submitting your video file:

  • Make sure your video filename = presenting author name_keyword, e.g., Randle_cerclage

  • Complete the online abstract submission

  • Transfer your video to CanSAGE using: WeTransfer, Google, or Dropbox.
