Vaginal Surgery 2.0: vNOTES (vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery) – Jan F Baekelandt, MD
Learn novel approaches from this expert on how to fully incorporate vaginal surgery into your MIGS armamentarium. Using familiar endoscopic principles, instrumentation and devices, vNOTES(vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery), and other advanced vaginal techniques enable surgeons to perform gynecological operations while leaving no visible scars.
This course will highlight various modalities to maximize exposure, simplify access into the cul-de-sac, insert vNOTES port and perform simple and difficult vaginal hysterectomies, adnexectomies, and tubal surgery. This session will also provide practical tips on how to prevent, detect, and manage complications in vNOTES and vaginal surgery.
• vNOTES a New Surgical Approach
• vNOTES Technique
• vNOTES Evidence
• vNOTES Patient Selection
• vNOTES Training Pathway and Certification
• vNOTES Complications
• vNOTES Case Registration
At the conclusion of this course, the clinician will be able to: 1) Identify the major challenges in vaginal surgery and articulate various techniques to overcome these challenges; 2) articulate steps to perform vNOTES hysterectomy and adnexectomy safely and efficiently; and 3) identify, prevent, and manage complications in vNOTES and vaginal surgery. Target audience: GYN surgeons experienced in both vaginal hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy.
