Welcome and thank you to incoming and outgoing members of the Board
Updated: Dec 9, 2019
As the dust settles from CanSAGE 2019 in Ottawa I am becoming used to my new role as Past President. While it has been my pleasure and privilege to have been closely involved with the birth and infant years of the organization, it is equally satisfying to step back a bit to watch the next phase of growth. It seems very akin to my new role as Opa to my two beautiful little grand daughters, Sawyer and Madeline, both of whom arrived within two weeks in July (I am pretty sure I showed their pictures to everyone in Ottawa, including the housekeeping staff).
As I step back and pass the reins to Catherine I am so thankful for everyone who has given of their valuable time to help make CanSAGE a success. Anyone can have an idea, but it takes an entire group of dedicated and passionate colleagues to make that idea a reality.
I would like to acknowledge the contributions made by those who terms on the board are complete. The time and efforts of Drs. Ally Murji (Treasurer), Krisztina Bajzak (Atlantic Board member), Ari Sanders (Fellow representative) and Sari Kives (Member at Large) have been greatly appreciated and I am sure you join me in thanking them for their work.
I would also like to welcome the incoming members of the Board as well as those taking on new roles. Drs. Catherine Allaire (President), Liane Belland (Vice-President), Jamie Kroft (Secretary), Sari Kives (Treasurer), Karine Lortie (Member at Large), Elizabeth Randle (Atlantic Board Member) and Alysha Nensi (Fellow Representative) will continue to guide the organization as it grows as a national society responsible for excellence in all things minimally invasive.
Everything is pointing to an exciting year with the addition of the CanSAGE video library (cansagevideos.com) and work beginning on a National Endometriosis strategy as well as a set of National Ambulatory Gynecology recommendations. And of course we are already planning for CanSAGE 2020 in Saskatoon which will combine the best education with our world famous prairie hospitality. I look forward to seeing all of you in Saskatoon.
