PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Our team is composed of five gynecological surgeons who specialize in minimally invasive gynecological techniques and one urogynecologist. All members of the fellowship team are experts in pelvic floor reconstruction. Our main goal is to provide the least invasive surgical technique for each patient while ensuring the best clinical outcome. During their two years of training, fellows receive a breadth of gynecological surgical training which includes laparoscopic, vaginal, and robotic surgery. Typical surgeries performed at our centre include laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomies, vaginal repairs with McCall culdoplasty, hysteroscopy, advanced laparoscopies including treatment of endometriosis and fibroids, TVT/TVT-O/TOT procedures and cystoscopy, Lefort colpocleisis, and robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomies and myomectomies. Surgical simulation is incorporated into the curriculum. At least once per week, fellows attend one of the various clinics to perfect surgical planning, perioperative management, endometrial hyperplasia/cancer counselling, menopause, urodynamics, and vulvar health. Fellows are encouraged to pursue a Masters program of their choice and are provided protected educational time in addition to financial support. The fellow’s schedule is adjusted to meet individual goals and academic demands.
